Alicia Keys recently did a article with with Blender. Now I know why Clive Davis was nervous about letting her talk at the beginning. I also now realize what it must feel like when a reporter is sitting there with a pen, paper and recording a conversation and can't believe the stuff that they are getting. What started as a what was going to be a innocent article about a popular songstress, turned into...
"'Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. 'Gangsta rap' didn't exist."
Another of her theories: The bicoastal feud between slain rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled "by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing."
She then went on to say that she wears an AK-47 pendant around her neck "to symbolize strength, power and killing 'em dead,"
Good work Alicia... I am just not sure I buy it.
